Hey, y’all, sorry this is belated. I was out of town all weekend and couldn’t watch the game, and haven’t had time to catch up since hitting the ground late last night. BUT! I did read some statistics stuff, and this is what piqued my interest about last Friday’s draw against the Elevens:
- Eleven is less than twelve
- LouCity just barely won the possession battle 51.5% to 48.5%
- Both teams were offside a lot
- The 4-5-1 (more of a 4-6-YOLO) did a good job slowing Indy down, but also did a good job slowing Morados down.
- The passing stats are pretty close, though Indy pumped in (and connected on) a lot more long balls and crosses than City did. I’d chalk that up to their inability to connect lots of passes together, thanks largely to City’s tactic to overload the midfield all over the place.
- Shooting stats were pretty similar. Indy got off fewer shots but had more on target.
- I’ll leave the reffing discussions up to you.
- Napo MOTM: five chances created, 61 touches, completed 80% of his 40 passes, 8 tackles, 3 fouls won. Big time.
I’ll do better on this next week, but enjoy. VAMOS MORADOS!
