Happy Halloween again! I’ll spare you another deep dive into the history of Christian appropriation of traditional European holidays today, and instead talk about Bill Simmons’s “four beers” rule.
You should never drink four beers. If you have three beers or less, you’ll probably wake up the next day and feel fine without feeling like you went overboard. If you have five or more beers, you’ll probably end up with a solid buzz and have a good time, and the hangover will be worth it. But four beers is too many without being enough. Four beers leaves you with a sloggy headache and inability to be productive in any way the following day, but without the benefit of being the result of a rowdy time. Never just drink four beers. This is just a Public Service Announcement, and has nothing to do with why this post is about two hours late.
LINKS!
- Louisville City shareholder Mike Mountjoy made comments earlier in the week about the club’s intention to make a bid for MLS, but yesterday club communications director Scott Stewart refuted those comments. Palace intrigue!
- Referees have been announced for the conference finals this week! The center ref assigned for our match is the same one that gave a straight red to St. Louis FC’s Tony Walls early in their first round playoff match against Orange County, so our guys might want to watch their language on Friday.
- Colorado Rapids, which is a soccer team and not a hockey team, finally did something sensical and affiliated with the USL team in their back yard, Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
- Hartford Athletic is apparently still entering the USL Championship in 2019 and work on their stadium is underway. Work on their branding, however, is still yet to begin.
