Happy Halloween again! I’ll spare you another deep dive into the history of Christian appropriation of traditional European holidays today, and instead talk about Bill Simmons’s “four beers” rule.

You should never drink four beers. If you have three beers or less, you’ll probably wake up the next day and feel fine without feeling like you went overboard. If you have five or more beers, you’ll probably end up with a solid buzz and have a good time, and the hangover will be worth it. But four beers is too many without being enough. Four beers leaves you with a sloggy headache and inability to be productive in any way the following day, but without the benefit of being the result of a rowdy time. Never just drink four beers. This is just a Public Service Announcement, and has nothing to do with why this post is about two hours late.
