Well, friends, we’re (probably) less than a week away from the next coaching era at Louisville City. Call the good ship LCFC a submarine because it hasn’t leaked a drop about who the finalists might be. I’m guessing new president (congratulations!) Brad Estes just half-name-dropped the Indian and Malaysian national team managers to throw us off the scent. Good work, Brad! That’s why you keep getting promoted. Because this is lower league soccer, not as many people pay attention to it or hound agents and general-manager types, so that’s why we don’t know much. Names like Mark McKeever and Mark Lowry have popped up just out of pure conjecture (so far), but I don’t think either are actual candidates for the job. The one guy we can count on to have any kind of news about USL coaching searches in the Eastern Conference says the search is already over. That doesn’t mean LouCity brass has chosen a candidate, of course. It just means they’re done looking for one.
In any event, our long regional nightmare will be over soon, and then we’ll have a whole new list of things to wring our hands over. Can’t wait!
- Ilja Ilic made the Team of the Week! Congrats to Illy on the honor in his best season yet in purple.
- Looks like USL isn’t coming to Jacksonville any time soon.
