Sure, Louisville City had a fun day with all the kids and fans at Fort Knox yesterday, but the real story is this: James O’Connor moves a lot faster than you’d think he could while covered in green pillows:
A different take on “Attack! Attack! Attack, attack, attack!” 😂
Ladies and gentlemen, head coach James O’Connor. We’re enjoying this, @FortKnoxKY! pic.twitter.com/puDbp7Gf9m

In more somber news, Philip Bailey and Danielle Lerner of the Courier-Journal reported today that Metro Councilman Brent Ackerson has publicly accused some of Louisville City’s owners and investors of lobbying heavily against a city ordinance designed to protect the homeless living outdoors when temperatures get near freezing. There is a large homeless camp on the property where the Stadium Development District is going to be, and some Councilmembers were informed that passing Ackerson’s amendment “would pose great hardship upon the soccer stadium construction.”
On the other hand, the club announced yesterday that it had donated $17,000.00 to The Coalition for the Homeless, with the funds raised by various owners made available immediately to support residents of the Campbell Camp. The Coalition for the Homeless is a nonprofit organization in the Louisville community that advocates for the homeless. The funds are expected to be used to assist former camp residents with hotel stays beginning as soon as possible, with a goal of moving each of these people into permanent housing shortly thereafter.
Oh, hey, look, soccer:
- Pittsburgh and Penn FC both had busy days in the transfer market yesterday.
- It looks like San Diego 1904 will play in the USL in 2019
- FCC downed Louisville City’s next opponent, Northern Kentucky, 0-3 yesterday in front of what I can assure you was the largest crowd to ever watch a preseason soccer game between FCC and NKU.
