I love spring. It’s green, it’s comfortable to be outside again, it’s also several other pretty colors, and the sun is out. I love it. However, spring does have some drawbacks. One of those is unpredictable weather. Weather in Louisville is fairly unpredictable to begin with, but in spring it’s on another level. It got up to nearly 80 degrees yesterday, and on Friday the high isn’t even going to sniff 50. Rain just pops up out of nowhere. Plus, while I very much like that all the stuff is coming out of the ground and blooming and whatnot, an unwelcome (even though completely necessary) byproduct is Isaiah Carey’s worst nightmare: bugs and POLLEN.
Somehow I am one of the fortunate few that doesn’t really have allergies to all the green stuff exploding off the trees and bushes and whatnot around town. My kids, though, are not so lucky. My oldest played in the Louisville Cup over the weekend and so all five of my immediate family were outside for several hours watching soccer in a field. To get through it, we had to regularly shoot saline up all three of my kids’ noses, put drops in their eyes (kids looooove getting drops in their eyes), and ran through an entire box of tissues, I’m pretty sure, to handle the fallout. It was gross.
- Not gross: Brad Estes getting nominated for an Executive of the Year award for his hard work getting the stadium project off the ground and on track. I’m sure it’s an honor just to be nominated!
- MLS’s would-be Miami team, Inter Miami, just got sued again.
- Who could have predicted that strapping a GoPro to a ram was a bad idea.
