Y’all. Y’ALL. The Purple Press is BACK. I know it went away for a while but that’s because my real job and real life got real demanding and kept me from being able to supply you, the loyal reader, with the best and most up to date USL/Louisville City news and miscellanea this side of Vostok, Russia. I’m sorry that you had to look elsewhere, even if I’m not sorry for not doing that job for you for free. We’ll get through this together, I promise.
All that said, let’s just get right to some interesting recent news:
- Signings! City signed Napo Matsoso for the rest of the season and Jonathan Lewis on loan, though probably only through the end of the regular season due to the USL roster freeze. Both of these signings are interesting, though I’m really excited about Louisville native Napo. I watched him play in college at UK and he was and is a really special midfield creative talent with a high motor. He might not have fit in well at New England because New England and MLS is a pretty physical league and he’s not a big guy. I think he should fit right in with our roster, though. Lewis is interesting though I’m not sure how much we’ll actually see him play. Good luck and welcome to both guys!
- For you WoSo fans, USL bought/revived the trademark for the W-League recently.
- Buffalo are ruthless.
