I’m gonna spend one more day basking in the glow of three away points against Cincinnati before diving in to the Kickers game this Saturday. A couple interesting trends, just three games in:

  • No City player has scored than one goal so far
  • Morados have only taken 36 shots on the season, good for 21st in the league
  • Only 9 of those shots have been on target

I’m traditionally a pessimist. Numbers like these can mean a few things. One, Morados have played three of the top ten defenses (so far) in the league, so of course you aren’t going to get a lot of scoring chances. Two, they’ve only played three games, and so still haven’t totally gelled on offense yet. But one other possibility is this team just doesn’t have the same attacking verve we’re used to seeing. City is usually high on the shots list, if not on top of it. They’re fifty (FIFTY!) shots behind RB2 right now, who have only played one more game. So, because I’m bad at this, look for the team in all black (plus some purple and gold) to score like eight goals against Richo on Saturday.

We’re undefeated, in second place, haven’t conceded in 270 minutes and I’m bitching about shooting. Water is wet, etc.
