I almost made this morning’s missive about calendars again, but given how long and boring/interesting my last rant on that subject was, I’ll let it pass this time. THIS TIME. Straight links today, homies:
- FC Dallas is holding tryouts for its USL League One team (to be named later but probably to be named FC Dallas 2), which begs the question: wasn’t this supposed to just be for their academy kids? Is that not the point? On the other hand, I supposed casting a wider net might let them pick up players they didn’t know about before.
- Notable USL League Two side Michigan Bucks is moving from Pontiac, Michigan to Flint, Michigan and thus are considering a name/branding change. I’m not sure why that should be a thing since both cities are in Michigan. Also, if they don’t go back to the drunk-looking deer from 1996 they’re dead to me.
- Should the Chicago Fire be worried about the new USL team locating in the city limits in 2021? Probably not, but it’s sure fun to think about.
- There are a lot fewer bugs on Earth today than there were 20 or 30 years ago, and that’s a bad thing.
