First: Louisville City 5, Long Island Rough Riders 0. I wasn’t able to watch the game live, but I did watch a good bit of the game via The Coopers’ Periscope stream, and that was enough to know City pretty well dominated the match. I guess the scoreline did the same thing, duh. Either way, a ten-gallon sized hat off to Tom Farmer for doing that for us.
Good things: Morados won, Pat McMahon started, and no one got hurt. I have no idea whether City changed anything tactically; it didn’t look like they did to me. I’ll wait for someone wise like @filldoe to let me know if I missed something else.
Starting XI (4-1-4-1): Tim Dobrowolski; Pat McMahon (Alexis Souahy 64′), Sean Totsch, Paco Craig, Oscar Jimenez (Cameron Lancaster 72′); Paolo DelPiccolo; George Davis IV, Kyle Smith (Brian Ownby 63′), Magnus Rasmussen, Ilija Ilic; Luke Spencer
Scoring summary:
LOU – Kyle Smith (Ilija Ilic) 25′
LOU – Ilija Ilic 37′
LOU – Luke Spencer (Oscar Jimenez) 68′
LOU – Brian Ownby 81′
LOU – Cameron Lancaster 86′
Next up in the Open Cup is a Kings Cup match against St. Louis in Louisville next Wednesday night at Lynn Stadium! I’m excited.
Other stuff of note:
- A brief compilation of other Round 2 US Open Cup results. USL teams…didn’t all do so great.
- There really isn’t anything else worth talking about. Have a great Thursday!
