Yesterday was Louisville City Media Day. One of the more unexpected announcements was that LouCity is fielding a Power Soccer team this coming season in the US Power Soccer Association. That’s very cool!
If you didn’t know, and I didn’t until just recently, Power Soccer is a brand of soccer for people with physical disabilities. Players use motorized wheelchairs to dribble and kick an oversized soccer ball. The game is played in a gym on a regulation basketball court. Two teams of four players use powerchairs equipped with footguards to attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch (330 mm) football in an attempt to score goals.
This is the kind of community outreach and engagement we all want to see from Louisville City. More of this, thanks!
No links today because there’s not much of interest out there, other than the fact that Nashville SC named Gary Smith their MLS coach already, even though he hasn’t had the chance to disappoint them for a second straight season in the USL Championship yet. I gave up on NSC’s ability to make good decisions when they changed their logo to a woke caution signal. See y’all tomorrow.
