We’re on to the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup for the first time since 2015! Louisville City beat St. Louis 1-0 last night at Lynn Stadium thanks to a Sean Totsch rocket in the 68th minute. Morados looked to be in fairly good control of most of the game, and had most of the possession and shots.

Totsch’s goal came almost out of nowhere. He received a pass from the wing drove from City’s own half, split two incredulous STL defenders, and fired a bolt from about 30 yards away to the upper 90 that Tomas Gomez couldn’t have been expecting. It was a pretty, pretty sweet goal. I don’t have a lot else to say about the game. It wasn’t a great match, but it was entertaining, and both sides had some good chances to score. Luckily, City came out on top, and are moving on in the Cup.

We’ll find out at about 11 today about City’s Round 4 opponent and who gets to host. Thankfully, there’s a week break between rounds this time. Now, we have to worry about The Worst again, who put out a second choice side in the Open Cup last night, because they can, and beat Pittsburgh handily last night, because dammit.
