It’s the last day of February, which means March, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, spring, a big college basketball tournament, and, more importantly, USL soccer are right around the corner!

I know we’ve got a friendly on Saturday, and I’ll get into that tomorrow. But, at this point, I’m out of things Louisville City-related to talk about. I can only do so many Wikipedia searches about long-dead presidents and controversies over calendars and that missing ten days from 1582 (or 1752 if you were English). I’m ready for actual games to talk about. I’m ready to hear the noise in the stadium, smell the smoke, drink the flat beer, panic over the lost child, yell at the guys and gals in green.

I’m watching a college basketball game right now where the timeout soundtrack is the same as the one I heard in a different college basketball game between different teams in a different conference yesterday. The experience is pretty homogenous, if you think about it. That’s boring. One of the things I love about the Coopers and Louisville City in general is the commitment to making our game days as unique as we can. The play on the field is always the star, of course, and the thing I like the best. But no one could deny that the experience in the stands is what puts Morados matches on a plane of their own in Louisville sports. I’m ready for it to be here.
