Your daily(?) dose of nonsense and Louisville City/USL news.
I struggled to come up with something to ramble about for today. I initially wrote about my dogs, but then reconsidered. Literally no one other than me should care about these two animals whose purpose in life is to noisily adorn the furniture in my house. Then I thought about some current events. My Twitter feed is full of hot takes on guns, Rick Pitino, and the women on the US Olympic skiing team. Hard pass, for today, anyway.
I’m antsy for soccer stuff to talk about. The problem is, there’s not a lot out there. I watch half of a preseason game between Nashville and Chicago Fire this afternoon. While that’s pretty desperate, I still can’t bring myself to watch or care about the CONCACAF Champions League. I dropped my cable subscription a while back, which means I don’t get to watch Liga MX (legally) anymore.
Navel-gazing and self-reflection are healthy, of course, but that’s for my other blogging platform: /r/ShowerThoughts. COME ON, SOCCER SEASON. GET HERE SO I DON’T HAVE TO CONSIDER MY OWN MORTALITY.
- Cincinnati signed another guy, water is wet, etc.
- We’ll probably never see them in person, but San Antonio FC revealed their new kits for 2018, and they are pretty choice.
- Meanwhile, if this tweet is any indication, Louisville City’s primary kits are the same as last year’s, plus a star.
- Pittsburgh has a TV deal! We could argue about whether local broadcast TV is a good investment for clubs, but I side with the argument that spreading your brand around is a good thing. Which reminds me, are Morados going to be on local TV this season? Or on a radio broadcast? Bueller?
