I’m super busy with work this week so I haven’t had time to deep dive into the misery I felt over Tuesday’s debacle against Tworonto. It’s actually a good thing I’m swamped because it keeps me from remembering that Louisville City, the reigning USL champions riding a two-game winning streak where they outscored their opponents 9-0 lost to one of the historically worst teams in recent USL history. I won’t apologize for trashing TFC2 in my March to the Match post because nearly everything I wrote in it was true. They’re still very bad. And they came into Slugger Field and absolutely thrashed our Morados. That sucked. It was embarrassing. What’s worse, it was preventable. I won’t dive into the reasons why right now because that’s what Mondays are for, but that loss was an all-systems failure that makes me very worried about tomorrow night against Charleston. I’ll get to that…tomorrow.
Maybe. Depends on how today goes.
On to the links!
- My good friend and yours, John Harkes, has been tabbed to head up Greenville Triumph‘s first season in USL D3 in 2019.
- While USL is a growing league, most teams’ player wages and benefits haven’t caught up.
- Why else would you be standing there if it wasn’t to provide the optimal landing surface for this jump?
