Happy New Year! Sorry about the radio silence last week. Nobody’s on the internet around New Year’s Eve and Day, anyway, and then add in travel and my actual job and I literally had zero time for you wonderful, wonderful people. I’m sure you’ve already forgiven me, and I’ll gladly cash in on that “be nicer” New Year’s resolution you already forgot you made.
The good news is, next to nothing of importance happened since we last Purple Pressed. Well, wait, that’s not true:
Yeah, that’s important. I’d heard stirrings about his possible return for a few weeks but was still surprised that no one at the MLS or maybe English Championship level wanted to take a bite on the Pac man. He’s the class of our league for sure, and I’m elated he’s coming back to anchor the back line again. All of the sudden, Los Morados have a glut of quality defenders and perhaps not enough minutes for all of them to share. It’s a good problem for Hackworth to solve.
In other news, Jose Carranza got called up to the US U-20s, which is a good sign for his development and potential. Also, Niall McCabe is still auctioning off a signed, game-worn jersey to help raise funds for the family of fallen LMPD officer Diedre Mengedoht; it’s open until Wednesday.
In other news: nothing else happened. Let’s go get this week!
