Louisville City drew 1-1 with Kentucky in their penultimate preseason friendly yesterday in Lexington. The same starting XI we’ve seen for the past few matches started again, this time reportedly in a 4-4-1-1. Who knows whether that’s true. Kentucky got on the board first, but City managed an equalizer late in the game from Sunny Jane after the starters were all subbed out.
While the starters were in, reports are that Morados owned possession and generated some chances, hitting the woodwork several times, including the crossbar twice in quick succession in the first half. The Wildcats managed to generate a turnover and quickly converted one of the only chances they created the entire afternoon. That’s soccer sometimes, I suppose, and it’s just a friendly. Thanks to UK for hosting, and I personally hope this is a tradition that continues for a long time!
In other news, the club hosted their sort of kit reveal party on Saturday night at Against the Grain. The new duds received mixed reviews on social media, which is true of most kits, anyway. Personally, I think they’re fine. At least it’s not a white t-shirt.
