Lots has happened since last Thursday, and yours truly was powerless to type words into a computing device to tell you about it! Your Monday Morning Centerback will return to normal service a little later today, but let’s do a quick hit recap of the weekend that was – sans LouCity/NCFC recap:

NEW PLAYER ALERT: Jonathan Gómez!

A 16 year old left back! I’m super excited to have a kid like this in the squad, and hope we get more like him as time goes on. JoGo was previously with the FC Dallas youth setup but left the club after spending last season on North Texas SC rather than continuing on with them for…reasons. I’d like to know what they were, but I get the feeling they have something to do with a certain continent to the east of us.

KIT REVEAL!

It happened! They’re pretty sweet! I do miss gold on the away kit, and I’m guessing we might never get it back, but these aways are pretty good. I get the feeling that black one won’t be around for too long, either.

Full Metro Council approves Soccer Holdings Champions Park Proposal

This is great news! Full details haven’t been fleshed out yet, but having a dedicated home for the NWSL team plus whatever plans the club has for its academy setup is a big step. More on that second front should be coming out this week.
