Happy belated Groundhog Day! Apparently, everyone’s favorite weather hog predicted an early end to winter yesterday. That’s great news for everyone who believes in the meteorological divinations of a large Pennsylvania rodent!

I have a feeling it’s going to be a busy week around here, so let’s get some of the less important stuff out of the way today so we’ve got room for more fun things later:

• Aonghus O Maicin, whose name is so Irish it hurts, at the Irish Times did a really nice profile of Niall McCabe last week.
• In coming to terms with their non-MLS status, Indy XI’s owners are changing some projections for their stadium project, which still needs a place to land.
• DC United, LouCity’s first preseason opponent, got off to a rocky start in their own first friendly match against Red Bull New York, losing 0-3. The match wasn’t broadcast, which doesn’t give me hope for Thursday’s contest.
