It’s the day before Valentine’s Day! Did you get your significant other a gift yet? If you did, did he/she then tell you she wanted something different than what you got her? Lucky him/her, now they get two gifts! What a holiday.
The universe apparently noted my disdain in yesterday’s Purple Press over the lack of news and dumped a few new-ish things on me to make up for it, so let’s get in:
- I’m not sure why Business First has this story and not the C-J, but whatever: John Hackworth’s desire to get into coaching was fueled by tragedy. [Subscription (sorry)]
- Louisville City having mostly recently paved the way, a couple of clubs out west are starting to make their pitch for their own stadiums, including a possible new League One team in Spokane.
- More than just the name has changed for the now former Bethlehem Steel. Brendan Burke stepped down as head coach and will take a front office job, while Sven Gartung will replace him.
- Tampa Bay Rowdies’ partnership with Norwich City has added a new wrinkle: a midseason friendly with the Canaries’ U23s.
- The USL is getting back into women’s soccer after a years long hiatus, and hired Angela Hucles to lead those efforts earlier this week.
- Miami FC owner Riccardo Silva released a statement after he lost his challenge to implement promotion and relegation in the US with the international Court for the Arbitration of Sport.
That’s a lot! Each one’s worth a click. Have a great Thursday!
