Today’s the day – CRESTMAGEDDON. LouCity Twitter was absolutely up in arms late last week over all the hints the club’s official account was dropping about its “new look,” which people have taken to mean “THE WORST DECISION EVER,” “THE CLUB HATES US” and that it’s “A DISASTER.” One intrepid fan announced that he would “boo until [his] lungs bleed” at the official announcement of whatever it is that’s being announced this morning. Twitter being the home of rational thought and not hyperbole, ever, I’m sure all of these opinions are very serious and will be set in stone forever.
It’s something different. If you like it, you’ll be happy. If you don’t like it, you’ll get used to it. It’ll be fine.
Meanwhile, in news, here’s the latest in the USL:
- John Hackworth did a nice interview with the Courier-Journal about his time here thus far and the club’s goals for 2020.
- Baltimore might actually, really be joining USL as a Championship expansion side in 2022! Long-time US soccer internet lurkers have been wondering if a new B-more side would ever get off the ground, and this is the best indication yet.
- Speaking of re-brands/brand refresh/updates, Charleston Battery and Colorado Springs Switchbacks did one, too.
We’ll drop the whatever-it-is explainer, which I imagine exists, when it’s released today at 11:00. Be sure to hold your breath and have tissues ready!
