Okay. We’re back. After a less-than-optimal Sunday, which was followed by a dead website on Monday, it’s time to get back up and start talking about Louisville City soccer again. And also Proof FC, though we’re still kind of bare on the news front there.
Thanks to the deadness of this here website, yours truly did not write the usual Monday Morning Centerback. One could argue that we were hiding from the truth, refusing to deal with the loss in the club’s third straight championship final. One would be correct, to an extent. I didn’t really want to write about it, but I did do a bunch of tweets, which are just going to have to do.
Moving on:
- Well-informed Redditor /u/phillipdurbin11 has opinions on whom from City’s 2019 squad will be back for the inaugural season at Lynn Family Stadium! I have some, too, but mystery user phillipdurbin11’s are much better explained.
- USL Season Superlatives are out. Phoenix’s Rich Schantz wins Coach of the Year, while Solomon Asante won MVP. Matt Pickens was Goalkeeper of the Year, Cristian Parano was Young Player of the Year, and Pittsburgh’s Joe Greenspan was Defender of the Year.
- Real Monarchs’ head coach did a good enough job that he was named head coach of the senior squad, Real Salt Lake, yesterday.
- We like bagging on new club badges around here, so here’s a new target for your ire, the rebrand of the Chicago Fire. It was not well-received! It was memed! I am not looking forward to seeing it on my kids’ uniforms! Oh, well.
Have a great weekend, everybody. Here’s a dog sitting on a cat.
