It’s Week 2 of the 2020s, y’all! Hope everyone had a great weekend. There was lots of European and Mexican soccer on TV, which was great! I hope your team, if you have one, won.

Next to nothing of import happened from a USL or Louisville City point of view since Friday morning, unfortunately for yours truly. City director of media relations Howie Lindsey teased some kind of announcement on Soccer City that will come later today, and former LouCity goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh got married. Congratulations to him and his new bride!

But that’s it. That’s all the news. I suppose I could make fun of the training shirt that’s gonna be Nashville’s inaugural MLS jersey, but I think instead I’ll drop a quick list, courtesy of Soccer America, of the players making the jump from USL to MLS so far:

Inter Miami. John McCarthy (Tampa Bay), Denso Ulysse (Tacoma), George Acosta (Austin), Julian Kiesewetter (El Paso).
LAFC. Danny Musovski (Reno 1868).
Nashville SC. Ken Tribbett, Taylor Washington, Derrick Jones, Matt LaGrassa, Cameron Lancaster, Daniel Rios, Alan Winn (all Nashville SC).
NY Red Bulls. Jared Stroud, Chris Lema (both NY Red Bulls II).
Orlando City. Jordan Bender (Orlando City B),
Real Salt Lake. Maikel Chang (Real Monarchs), Alvin Jones (OKC Energy FC).
Sporting KC. Amadou Dia (Phoenix).

No Louisville City guys on this list (so far). Most of the upward moves are from 2 teams to senior teams, Nashville excepted. Inter Miami is surprisingly deep on USL guys, which is interesting. Let’s hope, for the American game’s sake, this is a much longer list as time goes on.

More to come later in the week (I hope). Have a good Monday!
