I don’t care what the dictionary says, the plural for bison is bison. Louisville City’s third preseason tilt is TONIGHT! in Elizabethtown at their very nice sports complex. Louisville should get one of those!

The opponent: The Lipscomb Bisons. Congrats to their basketball team on winning the Atlantic Sun tournament earlier this week and advancing to their first ever NCAA Tournament! Now we have to break them.

The Bisons had an okay 2017 fall season, going 11-8-2. They had a losing conference record, but ended up winning their conference tournament and making the NCAA Tournament before losing to Butler in the opening round. Unlike the Norse, the Bisons could actually score some goals with 37 on the year. They also gave up 35, so their defense could use some work. They also like to shoot A LOT, nearly 15 times per game, and nearly 40% of those were on target. Not bad.

What will we see from Louisville City? Who knows? The game won’t be broadcast. I’m unsure whether we’ll have a re-cap here afterwards. I’d love to see Alexis play, but he and Ilja Ilic are doubtful with leg injuries (not good) and Ownby is still out with an undisclosed illness. Meanwhile, we’re still a bit in the dark about whether help is on the way, as The Trialist Known as Fight Club is still as-yet unsigned, and the other guy from St. Thomas College has seemingly disapparated back to Minnesota or something. I’m still not convinced Morados can get through the season with only 18 players, and won’t be unless it actually happens.

Anyway, it’s soccer, it’s Louisville City, so I’m into it.
