Louisville City FC announced earlier today that the club has signed Bryan Burke for the 2015 season. Details about the term and value of the deal haven’t been disclosed, which holds true for everyone else on the roster. Par for the course for this league, I think.
Anyway, about Bryan Burke. Burke last played at Orlando City SC with LCFC coach James O’Connor before sustaining a leg injury in 2013 that kept him out of the USL Pro Championship game. He was released by the club late last year as the club transitioned its roster for their inaugural season in MLS.
Burke is, to my knowledge, the first outside [edit] right back signed by Louisville. At 6’2″, 190 lbs, he’s got good size for the position. He’s not the speediest guy you’ll see at right back, but he’s solid in the air and makes good decisions when he does have the ball and presses forward. Prior to his injury, he was third on Orlando in minutes played, and led LA Blues in minutes the season before. Check out his YouTube highlights package from his 2013 Orlando City season here. Welcome to Louisville, Bryan!
