MARCH:

PRE-MATCH TAILGATE

Join us and the Lou City Tailgaters for all your pre-match festivity needs! Tailgating typically starts around four (4) hours prior to kickoff but you may find a few die-hards out there earlier. The tailgate is supporter run and supporter funded. We recommend BYOB and food contributions. If you do partake we ask that you contribute to the general fund. The main tailgate is located at the corner of N Preston St and E Witherspoon St in the Riverside Parking Cobalt Lot. The Coopers are joined here by several other SGs, so come say hello to everyone!

PRE-MATCH MARCH

About 30-40 minutes prior to kickoff we’ll start the March to the Match. Join us as we march around the tailgate lot, up Preston St, and into the east entrance. Flags will be waving, smoke will be popping, and we’ll be chanting and singing the whole way!

POST-MATCH CELEBRATION

After the match concludes, we have beers at Against the Grain which is conveniently located right outside the Slugger Field gate. Make sure you order a pint of the Coopers-inspired Ball Control! $0.50 from every pour (on home match days) of Ball Control goes to Shirley’s Way, a most excellent local charity helping families of those afflicted with cancer.

WHO, AGAIN?

Bethlehem is a good team. They beat Pittsburgh at Highmark in the first round, scoring two regular goals in the process before winning on penalties. They scored 58 goals in the regular season and gave up 43. They went 6-3-8 on the road, which is pretty good. No one Steel player scored more than seven goals all season, but six players scored at least four goals. Their constantly changing lineups probably have a lot to do with that. We have no real idea who will play on Saturday aside from James Chambers and Santi Moar, both of whom are good players. They have a lot of pace, but also are a very young team lacking experience. While it’s a little surprising that a team like Pittsburgh couldn’t put them out in the first round, one could reasonably conclude that Morados nonetheless have an advantage here.

As against most opponents, if City plays their game, they should win and win comfortably. They seem to have found a groove since the beginning of October, winning seven straight, scoring ten goals and only conceding four in the process. That said, the Steel present some challenges that Morados will have to account for, and it won’t be easy. Let’s get out to Slugger, be loud, annoy Bethlehem and distract them from their paying jobs, and move on to yet another Eastern Conference Final.

VAMOS MORADOS, VAMOS A GANAR!
