There’s still no official USL Championship schedule yet, but LouCity got some good news yesterday about its first match since March 7. On Sunday, July 12, Louisville City will host Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Lynn Family Stadium in a match that will be broadcast live to a national audience on ESPN2.
Details about ticketing for the event haven’t been released yet. We know that the Governor’s office has approved LFS for 50% capacity but whether the club will try and hit that number while maintaining a commitment to safety for fans is still up in the air.
Given the outline for resumed USL Championship competition, this match will count as one of the four “out of group” matches that LouCity will play in 2020. The March 7 match against North Carolina also counts against that total, so there are two remaining matches to be played against teams not in Group E, i.e. St. Louis, Indy XI, an Sporting KC II.
This is huge! A big, national platform for Louisville City, and a home game in our fabulous new stadium against what is always a very difficult opponent. I have high hopes for the event, that everything goes smoothly, and that everyone stays safe. VAMOS MORADOS!
