The draw for the U.S. Open Cup’s Round of 16 was this morning at Soccer House in Chicago. Louisville City was in the Mideast group with Chicago Fire, Atlanta United, and Nashville. Nashville was the only club that didn’t apply to host a Round of 16 or quarterfinal match, so they would be the away team for whomever was drawn second. Atlanta got the first host slot, and Louisville City got the second in the draw, so Nashville will be their opponent for the next round.

Dates and times have not yet been announced for the Round of 16, but Louisville City will probably play the match at Lynn Stadium again during the week of June 18. Nashville beat NPSL side Inter Nashville, PDL side Mississippi Brilla, and Colorado Rapids to pave their path to the Round of 16, and looked pretty convincing doing it. The match will be City’s third against the blue and gold this season, the last two being split with two goals for the home side in each game.
