Another quiet week in the USL, y’all. Here are a few tidbits to tide you over, though:
- In front office news, Amanda Duffy was promoted from general manager to president of Louisville City. Amanda is awesome, and we’re proud and grateful to have her in LCFC purple!
- Rio Grande Valley’s USL team will be called the Toros. That intial-izes out to RGVFCT. Gross. Welcome to the league! Have fun getting along with that new ownership group in Houston.
- The league had their annual summit last week in Tulsa which probably entailed a lot of back-slapping and glad-handing and self-congratulation about how awesome Louisville City is. It was ostensibly about “best practices” for marketing and revenue optimization, but we know it was really a bunch of people asking Amanda D. about how she does it.
- Sounds like we might have a new team in San Antonio, but the question is when? “Whenever the check clears,” Jake Edward, USL president, said, probably.
