Here’s something new: a weekly collection of what’s been going on in the USL. Check back every Monday morning to see what you missed!
- DC United wins the inaugural ATX Pro Challenge. A few USL teams have been throwing these little preseason tournaments to get some time against and in front of MLS teams. That’s good. What’s better is that the ATX Pro Challenge winner’s trophy is an armadillo armed with two giant revolvers and a cowboy hat. St. Louligans, we have our Kings’ Cup benchmark.
- Speaking of preseason tournaments, one of the oldest, the Carolina Challenge Cup, kicked off last weekend and features the two newest MLS teams, Orlando City SC and New York City FC, along with the Battery and Houston Dynamo. Orlando City SC and NYCFC drew 1-1 in a preview of their opening MLS regular season matchup on March 8.
- Tim Holt went into detail about what the USL might look like in the future this week. More teams closer to Louisville would be nice, so come on Nashville and Cincinnati!
- St. Louis FC sucks in general, and they also suck at kit design. Your jokes are welcome in the comments.
LINKUS NON-SEQUITURUS: WELCOME TO MY DOJO! We should all be so enthusiastic about…I don’t know, anything.
