Today we look at LCFC vs. Harrisburg City Islanders. Let’s dive on in to the keys to the game.
Harrisburg City:
The City Islanders are coming off a 1-0 loss to Bethlehem Steel FC. They currently have a record of 2-7-4 with wins coming over Bethlehem Steel and NYRB2. However, they have lost or tied the rest of those games after April 15th. So what do they need to do to win?
First, find a midfield that can control the ball and get opportunities to the forwards. The last few game films I have watched their midfield has failed miserably to combine with the forwards.
Secondly, they need to find a good out and out striker. Harrisburg has only found the net nine times this season, and eight different players have scored. That is good on paper, but when your main striker only has 13 shots with only six on goal, things get worrisome. For example, Oscar Jimenez, a wingback for LCFC has 10 shots with 7 on goal. Harrisburg needs to find an answer quick for their lack of attacking presence.
The last key to the game will be to find a way to get a result. The City Islanders have lost four of their last five matches. They will need to grind out a result at home against a new-look Louisville City
Louisville City:
The new formation is working. It has freed up the wingers, which allows them more space to run at defenders. That leads me into my first key and that is to continue to get the wingers involved in the attack. We’ve done it well for three seasons now and need to continue our top of the table run.
The second key is to dominate the midfield, I don’t mean control it, I mean dominate it! That means don’t give Harrisburg a chance to breathe in the midfield. Force them to change up their style and go for more counterattacking, which they haven’t been good at so far this season.
The final key for LCFC is to continue to find ways to score goals. We need to continue our run of shutouts and multiple goal games in order to top and win the USL East Division.
Prediction:
Harrisburg 1-3 Louisville City
I see LouCity coming away with a win here. I don’t think Harrisburg has the ability to win games(in their current form), but they can surprise us and get a goal. If Louisville dominates possession and doesn’t allow space for Harrisburg to play in I see no reason that Team Purple cannot run away with this. The need to pass like a butterfly and strike like a bee! I’d like to see a blowout personally like we have the last 2 games but we will see. Anyway, make sure you tune in to your radio or TV for the game and COME ON YOU BOYS IN PURPLE!
