Happy St. Patrick’s/BEGINNING OF NCAA TOURNAMENT Day! I didn’t go to the game, but that’s the score! Our invaluable friend Jonathan Lintner at the Courier-Journal will do a better job with his recap than I will, but I do have some thoughts with numbers next to them.

  1. KADEEEEMMMMM!!!! Here’s hoping he turns his offensive verve into more goals this season. I am a Kadeem fan, but too often last season he was overly focused on scoring, which would’ve been great if he did more of that. I hope he finds the net more often this season because when he does score, it’s pretty awesome.
  2. I got what I asked for: a goal from Chandler Hoffman from the run of play! Louisville City’s Twitter account made Cuatro Davis’s assist sound pretty awesome, so I’m very sorry to have missed it.
  3. Andy “Loveboat” Lubhan scored off a corner! Most of you will recall that Louisville City was godawful at converting corners last season, so if our centerbacks have all the sudden discovered the ability to head the ball in the net from far away, that’d be great.
  4. All of City’s goals were assisted, which I think is a good thing. Team goals are the best goals, unless Zlatan is on your team, in which case who needs the team. Zlatan doesn’t need a team, unless it’s a team of white horses to ride home from matches on. #allhailZlatan

One more to go, this time against Indy Eleven. FC Cincinnati and St. Louis FC both drew them 1-1, so we’re sure to go 4-0 at the yet-undetermined field that said friendly will be played upon. Come on, City!
