Their names are Kyle Smith (midfield), Kenny Doublette (forward) and Paco Craig (defender). I just couldn’t fit all that in the title without screwing up some SEO thing or other. Without doing any homework on any of these guys whatsoever, my favorite is gonna be Paco Craig because his name is Paco Craig. That’s strong name game right there.

[furiously googling and wikipedia-ing]

Sooo, about these new guys! All three have been on trial with Louisville City for a few weeks, including the team’s preseason stint in Florida. This will be the first professional contract for these guys, too, so that’s cool.

Kyle Smith is fresh off his college career at Transylvania University in Lexington and scored eighteen goals his senior season. Smith is originally from Cincinnati, which I will try mightily not to hold against him.

Kenny Doublette is a Haitian native who played his college soccer at Southern New Hampshire University. His last collegiate season was in 2013, and has since spent some time in the PDL and NPSL.

Paco Craig is an English national who came up through West Ham’s academy before heading to the States and playing college ball at Young Harris College (think Niall McCabe and Ilija Ilic). He’s an out and out defender, which is a bit of a relief as the depth chart in the back is a bit not-deep.

There’s not a lot else about these guys on the ebays, but I’ve got a lot of confidence in James O’Connor’s ability to scout diamonds in the rough. I have to guess that, at least in their first seasons, these guys are going to help round out practices and serve as competition for City’s best eleven, but hey, who knows! They might all be the next Jamie Vardy or something, and that would be neat.

COME ON, CITY.
