MARCH TO THE MATCH: ST. LOUIS FC 3

Let’s have a real good time?

by Taylor Sorrels (@taylorsorrels)

WHO: St. Louis FC. Again.

WHAT: A USL match, the second against St. Louis FC in a row, and the second in a week.

WHEN: Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Slugger Field

WHY: GOTTA GET THAT KINGS CUP.

HOW: At this point, Louisville City is three points ahead of St. Louis FC in the Kings Cup standings, and has a two goal lead on goal difference. A draw tomorrow wouldn’t be enough to seal the deal, but a win would. None of this stuff answers the how question, but whatever.

BROADCAST: The weather, as you could guess, looks awful. You’ll be there anyway, right along with our Gremlins. Don’t get them wet, don’t let them play after 7, or they’re bound to beat you:

WHO, AGAIN? Same bunch as last time, plus a hired gun in Mike Magee. If you haven’t heard of him, he’s the 2013 MLS MVP, probably Chicago Fire’s best player since he was traded there two years ago, a sometimes USMNT camp attendee, Ferris Bueller wannabe, and a genuinely good guy. Except tomorrow, he’ll be playing for St. Louis. So we must break him. I vote for a one day loan from Orlando City SC for Aurelien Collin, just so things are fair.

STATISTICAL COMPARISONS OF DUBIOUS VALIDITY: No different from last time, really. Louisville City took 3 more shots than St. Louis in the last game, which slightly changes the TSR, but other than that, nothing new.

PRE GAME TWEET GAME:

GO CITY.
