Louisville Slugger Field, 401 East Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202

WATCH:

AT. THE. GAME. Points are at a premium for Louisville City right now if they want to stay in the hunt for first place in the table. It’s not totally out of reach yet. Los Morados are on a bit of a roll in the league right now, but they could still use your help. Buy a ticket or two if you don’t already have one and let’s pack the place out. But if you can’t make it because you’re trapped under your prize bull, you can still watch on WBKI TV 58, listen on 840 WHAS, and stream it on ESPN+.

MARCH:

PRE-MATCH TAILGATE

Join us and the Lou City Tailgaters for all your pre-match festivity needs! Tailgating typically starts around four (4) hours prior to kickoff but you may find a few die-hards out there earlier. The tailgate is supporter run and supporter funded. We recommend BYOB and food contributions. If you do partake we ask that you contribute to the general fund. The main tailgate is located at the corner of N Preston St and E Witherspoon St in the Riverside Parking Cobalt Lot. The Coopers are joined here by several other SGs, so come say hello to everyone!

PRE-MATCH MARCH

About 30-40 minutes prior to kickoff we’ll start the March to the Match. Join us as we march around the tailgate lot, up Preston St, and into the east entrance. Flags will be waving, smoke will be popping, and we’ll be chanting and singing the whole way!

POST-MATCH CELEBRATION

After the match concludes, we have beers at Against the Grain which is conveniently located right outside the Slugger Field gate. Make sure you order a pint of the Coopers-inspired Ball Control! $0.50 from every pour (on home match days) of Ball Control goes to Shirley’s Way, a most excellent local charity helping families of those afflicted with cancer.

WHO, AGAIN?

Nashville is fine. Goals aren’t really their thing. They don’t concede many, they don’t score many. They’ve got talent, but haven’t been able to put an attack together with any regularity all season. They’re 2-2-1 in their last five, including a loss at Torontwo. How embarrassing!

In spite of their lack of actual offense, Nashville does like to possess the ball, averaging 52% per match, and over 400 passes per 90. Possession plus a strong back line led by Liam Doyle equals a pretty stout defense that’s gotten eleven clean sheets in 22 games. City has had some pretty good success getting goals against the Blue and Gold in Louisville, but those have often come from set plays, counter attacks, or just plain luck in a couple circumstances. It’ll be incumbent on City to keep the pressure on in this match because Nashville does have some speed at the top in Moloto and Mensah, plus a giant center forward in Tucker Hume. Brandon Allen’s also scored six times since joining up with NSH midseason.

City will be without Magnus Rasmussen for this match, and probably the next several, due to a knee injury he suffered early against New York last week. Richard Ballard is still out, and there may be another scratch that’s not yet announced. We might see a different looking setup from Louisville City in this game, not because it’s what John Hackworth wants, but instead just because of the personnel available.

There’s actually a lot to play for for both teams here. City needs to win games at home to stay in the hunt for first or second in the table. Nashville needs to get points any way they can because they’re in a dogfight just to make the playoffs. Let’s go get three points anyway.

VAMOS MORADOS, VAMOS A GANAR!
