WHO, AGAIN?

This is the last of City’s three match series against the Hounds for the 2017 season. While the first two matches were comfortable Louisville City wins, that doesn’t mean this one will be so easy. Pittsburgh is undefeated in their last five matches, winning three of those, and drew FC Cindy last week at Nippert. Corey Hertzog is back on a tear, scoring four goals in their last three matches.

The Hounds aren’t a bad team on paper. They’re notably strong in the tackle, accurate crossers of the ball from wide areas, and good on the dribble. Unfortunately, there have been long lulls where they’ve been unable to score goals. Defensively they’re pretty solid. Hertzog, Chevaughn Walsh, and Kevin Kerr are dangerous goalscoring threats. Romeo Parkes is also dangerous, in several contexts.

That said, Lou City fans should feel pretty good going into this game. This will mark City’s third match on the set of Street Fighter II, and the previous two iterations were sound wins for the guys in gold stripes. City will also have three of its best players back in the form of Mark-Anthony Kaye, Speedy Williams, and Kyle Smith. It’ll be interesting to see if City digs back into its attacking 3-4-3 or tries something a little different in this match.

In any event, it should be fun, and there’s a high likelihood for three points for the good guys at the end of this one. COME ON, CITY!
