In which we discuss last week’s USL news and notes over warm beer coffee on Monday mornings.

  • Tim Holt resigned as USL president for “other opportunities.” I have no idea what that means, and neither does anyone else. Former player and executive vice president Jake Edwards has been named as his replacement, and former Evansville Purple Aces head coach Mike Jacobs will assume the role of Executive VP. Expect Don Garber II to be announced in some role at USL in the coming weeks.
  • Looks like Real Monarchs are getting their own stadium, just not in Salt Lake City. Fun fact: Real Salt Lake isn’t in SLC, either!
  • Pittsburgh Riverhounds are apparently spending their preseason tending bar in the Steel City, so while they might not soccer very good, they’re at least a lot of fun at parties.
  • St. Louis FC signed a couple new guys the other day, one of whom is named Jamiel Hardware. Makes you wonder if soccer or adult film was his first choice profession.

RANDOLINK: I fully expected this to happen at some point when I woke up to snow last Thursday. Have a good week!
